FAQs

WHAT SHALL I WEAR?
Please wear clothes, I know a little obvious.  You will probably find your Yoga experience more enjoyable if the clothes are comfortable leggings or jogging bottoms.  A comfortable top too but I do suggest not too baggy and without a hood as inverted postures may reveal more of you than you wish.  My top tip is to wear a vest top underneath.  Yoga is practised in bare feet so the latest running shoes won’t be necessary.  Layers a must as you can warm up and cool down pretty quickly.  You may like to bring a blanket and socks with you for meditation at the end.
DO I NEED A MAT?
Please bring your own mat.  I do have a few used and  sanitised yoga mats available (first come fist serve)  please email me  ruth@myyogaclub.co.uk to reserve. I recommend purchasing your own and can recommend some that I prefer.
BOOKING AND CANCELLING CLASSES?
All classes need to be booked via email and Ruth at My Yoga Club  Payment is via monthly invoice and payable on receipt via Bank Transfer
  • One off Corporate Days - £300
  • One Off Yoga taster sessions £100 (Including mats)
  • On - going weekly 45 minute class from £70 ( Own mats required - Price depending on amount of classes required and distance from my home - After 5 mile radius £10 per 30 minutes)
  • Yoga or Indian Head Massage Half Days - £150
All days must be booked in advance.  If booking an ongoing class then one month notice is required, if wishing to cancel contract.  The workplace is responsible for filling the classes and an empty class still requires payment for my time.  From £70 is if you are having more than 1 class per day within a 2 hour window.  Availability is limited and booking essential.  A waitlist is operating at the moment.

DO I NEED TO KNOW SANSKRIT
Sanskrit is the traditional language used when defining the Yoga poses.  However all Yoga poses come with an English translation.  Whilst I have  knowledge of Sanskrit in relation to the poses I don’t really find it useful when trying to convey what I mean.  So please don’t worry you will understand what I am teaching.  Yoga poses often have an animal name which I find helps me visualize what I am trying to emulate, but don’t worry I will always demonstrate a pose prior to teaching it in order for you to fully understand what you are trying to achieve.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
Please be punctual when attending classes as it is important to make sure that you warm up properly, I also like to make sure that all participants are verbally screened for medical conditions or injuries that may impact their Yoga lesson. You will need to fill out a PAR-Q form in order to take part.  Yoga etiquette is be kind and respectful to your other Yogis, if you do need to leave class early it is best to leave before the meditation has begun and always let your teacher know if this is the case.
ILL HEALTH & COVID
Ruth advises everyone who participates in her classes to please be courteous and if you feel unwell DO NOT  attend the class.  This includes a bad cough, temperature, sickness and diarrhoea.  The new booking system allows you to use your credits as you wish within 9 months of buying them (see each class pass for the amount of time the pass is valid) .  Hand sanitising will be available to use if you wish.  Ruth has also had her Covid vaccination.

The wearing of a face mask is down to the individual, however you do not need to wear a mask in the main room or whilst practising Yoga.  Participants will be spaced at least 1m apart as with government guidelines for group classes.
WHAT IS THE  PAR-Q FORM?
The PAR-Q form is a simple health questionnaire that helps to assess whether you are ready to embark on a new exercise regime.  Please take the time to read the PAR-Q form it has details of any medical condition that may prevent you from attending a class.  Unfortunately I do not do Pre or Post Natal Yoga.  Before you start a class please take time to print off and fill in the information required.  Of course this information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.  You can find the PAR-Q form on the tab along the top of the website or by clicking here.
